Take a classic key lime pie and make it even more fun and delicious? Is that even possible? Well mamaw found a way and that way is RUM! This Frosted Daiquiri Pie combines everything you love about a classic key lime pie and takes it up a notch, literally.

It can be said that the south is known for their use of sweetened condensed milk. With its sticky sweetness and creamy texture, it takes anything from cookies to pies to the next level. This pie is no exception. You may notice there are not any sugars, honeys or syrups to sweeten this pie. Instead all of the sweetness comes from the sweetened condensed milk and ripe lime juice making it fresh, light and indulgent all at the same time!

Why rum you might ask? I say, “why not?!” My mamaw was not a drinker, she did however love to add liquor to her food. But no fear, the rum in this Frosted Daiquiri pie is all flavor and no burn. So whether you’re looking for something to spice up your weekend dessert or are celebrating a special occasion, this Frosted Daiquiri Pie is a must try!

Serving Suggestions and Adaptations

Swap Up the Fruit: Feel free to switch up the flavors in this pie to reflect your own favorite daiquiri! Whether you prefer strawberry, watermelon, or pineapple swap out the lime juice and zest for your favorite whole fruit or juices! (The internet suggested a banana daiquiri as well. Not quite sure how to juice a banana yet but if you can figure it out, go for that too!)

Swap Up the Rum: Did you know rum comes in many flavors? Coconut Rum, Vanilla Rum, Banana Rum, and many more. Try adding some complementary flavor to your fruit choice!

Make it Even Easier: While this recipe is already easy as pie (pun intended) feel free to use a store bought whipped topping instead of making your own. Just gently fold the rum into the pre-made whipped topping, spread on top of your cooled pie and serve!

Perfect for Any Occasion: Who said fresh lime pie was only for the summer? With a pie this simple and versatile it can be dressed up or down for any occasion! Strawberry Frosted Daiquiri Pie for Valentine’s Day! Classic Frosted Daiquiri Pie for Dad’s Birthday! You do you!

To Save for Later…

While I have a feeling this pie won’t last long, it can be covered and stored in the fridge for 4-5 days. Please note, that the longer it is stored the stronger the rum flavor can become. (If you’re a rum fan and that’s your thing feel free to disregard this message)
